QUESTION

I
have received quite a number of questions from readers and friends by telephone
or email: “Why has the political condition of the United States deteriorated
so terribly?”
First
of all, I would like to thank my readers and friends for asking me this
question and for placing their trust in me. I venture to offer my answer:
The
United States is a capitalist nation governed by democracy, respecting the
right to life, the right to liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The United
States once sent its armed forces to fight Communism in Korea and Vietnam. In
other words, the United States understood that the Communism of Karl Marx and
Lenin was a catastrophe for humanity. But how ironic! The United States allowed
Charles E. Ruthenberg and others to establish the Communist Party of America on
American soil in 1919. Ruthenberg was elected the first General Secretary of
that organization.
Had
I not come to the United States as a refugee from Communism, I would never have
known that there was a Communist Party operating in America. I took up arms
against the invaders from North Vietnam before 1975 and actively fought
alongside American soldiers, never realizing that America itself had a
Communist Party. Today, I find myself asking: What was I fighting for?
The
Founding Fathers of the United States based their ideals upon Faith. The
national motto of the United States is “In God We Trust,” and the Pledge
of Allegiance contains the words “One Nation Under God.”
By
contrast, the Marxist ideology of Karl Marx and Lenin is atheistic and rejects
God. Therefore, in my view, those who follow the teachings preached by Charles
E. Ruthenberg are moving in the opposite direction from belief in God. The
Communist religion of Karl Marx teaches its followers: “To love one’s
country is to love socialism.” Therefore, anyone who loves his country
is regarded by Communist ideology as a reactionary.
Patriotic
revolutionaries such as Phan Chu Trinh, Phan Bội Châu, Lý Đông A, and Trương
Tử Anh were regarded by Communist ideology as reactionaries. The Communist
religion of Karl Marx not only rejects God; it also rejects the nation and the
people in order to transform human society into an “Animal Farm,” as in the
title of the book by the English journalist George Orwell.
President
John F. Kennedy declared: “Ask not what your country can do for you—ask
what you can do for your country.” He, too, was assassinated under
circumstances that remain deeply controversial, because to this day there is no
universally accepted answer as to who was ultimately responsible.
Christianity,
or the Christian faith, worships love and compassion. The Communist religion of
Karl Marx, in my judgment, worships hatred and class struggle.
Christianity,
or the Christian faith, respects freedom of thought and freedom of speech. By
contrast, the Communist religion of Karl Marx destroys freedom of thought and
freedom of speech—two privileges that I believe God has bestowed uniquely upon
mankind.
THE COMMUNIST STRATEGY OF STRUGGLE
1.
Long-Term
Concealment and Ambush:
This means patiently waiting for an opponent to make a
mistake or reveal a weakness, and then seizing the opportunity.
2.
Penetrate
Deeply, Rise High:
This means quietly pretending to
support one’s opponent while gradually climbing into positions of leadership
within the opponent’s organization.
THE MORAL CODE OF THE COMMUNIST
RELIGION
1.
The
End Justifies the Means:
This
means employing any method whatsoever, no matter how immoral or unethical, as
long as the desired objective is achieved.
2. The Unchanging Ultimate Goal of the Communist Religion:
To
seize political power and transform society into an “Animal Farm,” as in the
title of the book by the English journalist George Orwell.
The
Democratic Party of the United States has not yet changed the country’s name to
the “Socialist Republic of the United States of America,” as the
Vietnamese Communists did, because it cannot. But in my view, in terms of
conduct, the Democratic Party has certain characteristics that remind me of the
Vietnamese Communists.
1. Under
the Vietnamese Communists, the Party selects the candidates and the people
vote. In the Democratic Party, in my view, there have been decisions concerning
candidates that differ from the traditional primary-election process. The
evidence, in my view, is that Kamala Harris became the Democratic Party’s
presidential nominee in 2024 after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race;
she did not go through a presidential primary campaign to win the nomination.
2. The
United States is a democratic nation governed by the rule of law. I believe
that the border policies of the previous Democratic administration facilitated
the entry of a large number of illegal immigrants into the United States.
3. Regarding
Mar-a-Lago, the FBI searched former President Donald Trump’s residence on
August 8, 2022, pursuant to a search warrant approved by a federal court. I
object to the manner and circumstances of that search.
4. Regarding
the investigation involving Russia, I believe that government agencies used
investigations and accusations recklessly, in a manner resembling the
denunciation and political persecution practiced by the Vietnamese Communists.
There
are many more questionable tactics employed by the Democratic Party that, in my
view, are unworthy of the transparency expected in a democratic system. But if
I listed them all, I would only tire the reader’s eyes.
Please
understand that I am not a Trump fanatic who criticizes the Democratic Party
simply because I support Donald Trump. I am criticizing what I regard as the
moral deterioration of the Democratic Party. In my view, some of its actions
resemble Communist practices.
Secretary
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently expressed the view that if his father, Robert F.
Kennedy, and his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, were alive today, they would
not recognize the Democratic Party as it exists today.
At
the 2026 Republican midterm convention, President Donald Trump publicly
criticized the Democratic Party as treasonous. I agree with President Donald J.
Trump’s assessment.
There
are two events that, in my opinion, humanity can never forget:
1. On
January 25, 2006, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted Resolution
1481, entitled Need for international condemnation of crimes of
totalitarian communist regimes, condemning the massive human-rights
violations committed by totalitarian Communist regimes.
2. On
June 12, 2007, President George W. Bush dedicated the Victims of Communism
Memorial in Washington, D.C. The memorial was established to commemorate
the victims of Communism, and President Bush referred in his remarks to an
estimate of approximately 100 million people who had lost their lives under
Communism.
These
are two events that, in my opinion, humanity must never forget.
Why,
then, does the Democratic Party push America toward what I call the “Communist
religion” of Karl Marx, which Resolution 1481 condemned? I think Democratic
Representatives and Senators are not so foolish as to deliberately push America
down a path associated with the crimes of totalitarian Communist regimes
condemned by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Is the
Victims of Communism Memorial in Washington not enough to open the eyes of the
American people?
I
believe that some people within the Democratic Party and some left-leaning
media organizations have been influenced by what is commonly called the Deep
State, held hostage and compelled to act in ways that cause them to close
their eyes to the harm being done to their own country.
If
the midterm elections this year are won by the Democratic Party fairly and
without fraud, then, in my view, that would be a sign that a large segment of
the American people are being led by left-leaning media down a path that could
destroy civilization. I associate this with what happened in South Vietnam in
1963 and with the events that followed, eventually leading to the loss of South
Vietnam on April 30, 1975.
President
Abraham Lincoln emphasized a famous idea concerning the responsibility of
Americans themselves for the destiny of their country. I would like to repeat
that idea as a warning:
“No country in the world can defeat America except the
American people themselves.”
The
Democratic Party is determined, in my view, to defeat the democracy built by
the Founding Fathers.
No
one can see the Democratic Party presenting a clear plan to “Build Back
Better,” the slogan Joe Biden once used during his presidential campaign.
Instead, according to my assessment, people see the Democratic Party calling
for cuts to police funding, supporting election policies that I believe are not
sufficiently strict in verifying that voters are citizens of the United States,
promoting socialism, and defending illegal immigrants who receive government
assistance and social-welfare benefits that not every American citizen is able
to receive.
There
is a Vietnamese proverb: “To raise bees inside one’s sleeves and monkeys
inside one’s house is to invite trouble upon oneself.”
The
terrible decline of America today, in my view, is the result of America having
allowed Communism to operate since 1919.
If,
in this year’s midterm elections, the Democratic Party wins both houses of
Congress, then one need not be a prophet to foresee, in my view, a governing
establishment that has lost all sense of shame, resembling the Communist Party
of Vietnam today.
